Child Safety Standards

Bloom Dating, Inc. publishes these standards for the Bloom app (Bloom: Dating & Couples) on Google Play and the App Store.

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Bloom has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page explains what we prohibit, how we find and act on it, how to report it, and how to reach us.

Bloom is for adults only

You must be 18 or older to use Bloom.

  • Everyone gives their date of birth when they sign up, and Bloom will not accept a date of birth that makes someone under 18.
  • If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove the account.
  • If you think someone on Bloom is under 18, report them in the app or email safety@bloom.date.

What we prohibit

On Bloom, you may not:

  • Share, request, or link to any sexual content involving a minor, real or computer-made, including drawings and AI-generated images
  • Groom a minor, meaning build trust with a child or teen for a sexual purpose
  • Use Bloom to contact, meet, or arrange to meet a minor for any sexual purpose
  • Sexualize a minor in words, images, or video
  • Use Bloom for the sexual trafficking or sextortion of a minor
  • Post a photo of any child other than your own, a photo of a child on their own, an unclothed child, or a childhood photo of yourself. A photo of you with your own child is allowed when you are in it and everyone is fully clothed.

These rules apply everywhere in Bloom: profiles, photos, prompts, messages, voice messages, shared albums, and every other feature. They are part of our Community Guidelines and our Terms of Service.

How we find it

  • Photo checks. Photos uploaded to profiles, shared albums, and chats are checked against lists of known child sexual abuse images. A chat photo is not delivered until its check is finished.
  • Content moderation. Automated systems also check photos and many messages for content that breaks our rules, and can block or remove it.
  • Reports. People who use Bloom can report a profile or a conversation at any time, and our team reviews reports.

What we do when we find it

When we find content or behavior that sexually exploits or endangers a child, we:

  1. Remove the content and stop it from reaching anyone else
  2. Ban the account permanently, without a warning first
  3. Report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline. US federal law requires us to report apparent child sexual abuse material, child sex trafficking, and the enticement of a minor when we learn of them, and we also report other cases where a child may be at risk.
  4. Keep the evidence related to a report secure for as long as the law requires, share it only with NCMEC and law enforcement, and respond to valid law enforcement requests

We do not tell the person involved that we have made a report.

How to report

  • In the app: tap the report button on any profile or in any conversation. You can also block the person.
  • By email: safety@bloom.date

We do not tell the reported person who reported them.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first. You can also report child sexual exploitation directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.

Laws we follow

Bloom follows the child safety laws that apply to it, including the US federal law that requires providers like Bloom to report apparent child sexual abuse material and related crimes against children to NCMEC once they learn of them (18 U.S.C. 2258A).

Child safety contact

Our child safety point of contact can speak to how we prevent, review, and act on child sexual abuse and exploitation on Bloom, and can act on reports from app stores, NCMEC, and law enforcement.
