About Bloom

5 questions

What Bloom is, who built it, and when it lands.

  • Bloom is a dating app built around your whole relationship journey, from your first match to the committed relationship that follows.

For singles, it is an intentional dating experience focused on finding one person rather than swiping endlessly. For couples, Relationship Mode is a shared digital space to keep growing together.

The idea behind the tagline "the dating app that grows with you" is simple: Bloom does not stop being useful the moment you find someone. Bloom is launching first in Utah.

  • Bloom was founded by Craig Cossairt, its solo founder and CEO. Craig spent more than ten years working in software product management before starting Bloom Dating, Inc.

He builds Bloom with AI as a working partner, which is what lets a single founder design, build, and ship a full product.

  • Yes. Bloom Dating, Inc. is a real, incorporated company. Bloom is currently pre-launch and preparing for its App Store release.

It will open first in Utah, along the Wasatch Front, and expand to new markets after that. There is no public launch date yet. The best way to get in early is to join the waitlist at bloom.date.

  • Most dating apps are built to keep you swiping, because an active single user is a paying user. Bloom is built around a different goal: helping you find one person and then build something lasting with them.

It does not abandon you the moment you match. Relationship Mode keeps going after the dating phase, and the features that help you find a match, like seeing who liked you and all preference filters, are free for everyone.

  • Yes. Bloom is designed for people who are dating with intention and looking for a relationship that lasts, not for casual dating.

Everything about the experience, from thoughtful prompts to fewer but better matches to Relationship Mode for committed couples, is built around lasting connection rather than time spent in the app.

How dating works on Bloom

5 questions

Bloom's take on swiping, intent, and who it is built for.

  • No. Bloom is deliberately not a swipe-volume app. Instead of measuring how many profiles you can flick through, it uses thoughtful prompts and a calmer, more deliberate flow to help you find people you are genuinely compatible with.

The goal is fewer, better matches and real conversations that turn into real dates.

  • Yes. Bloom was built for exactly this frustration. Instead of an infinite feed designed to keep you scrolling, Bloom gives you a smaller set of thoughtful, more compatible matches and tools that help conversations become real dates.

The goal is to help you find someone, not to keep you swiping forever. And because Bloom grows with you into your relationship, it stays useful long after the search is over.

  • Yes, and so is anyone else dating with intention. Bloom is for adults of any age (18 and over) who are past casual dating and want something that lasts. People in their late 20s and 30s are a natural fit, but the experience is built for anyone looking for a real relationship.

It is built for daters who know what they are looking for and want tools that help a match become a relationship, rather than another profile to swipe past.

  • Bloom is built for commitment. It is for people who want a lasting relationship, and it is the only dating app that keeps supporting you after you find one.

If you are looking only for casual dating, Bloom is probably not the right app for you.

  • This is a big part of why Bloom exists. Conventional dating apps can make people feel like interchangeable profiles in an endless feed.

Bloom is designed to feel human: thoughtful prompts that show who you actually are, fewer but more meaningful matches, and a pace that respects your time and attention rather than competing for it.

Relationship Mode

4 questions

The half of Bloom that other dating apps don't have.

  • Yes, that is Bloom. On most dating apps, finding the app on a partner's phone is a red flag, and people delete those apps when they get into a relationship.

Bloom is the opposite. Once you are in a committed relationship, you and your person both move into Relationship Mode, a shared space built for couples. Bloom on your phone is something the two of you use together, not something to hide.

  • Yes, and this is what sets Bloom apart. After the dating phase, a couple can move into Relationship Mode, a shared digital space for committed couples.

Most dating apps end at the match. Bloom is built to support the relationship that follows it.

  • Relationship Mode is the part of Bloom for committed couples. Once two people are in a relationship, it becomes a shared digital space where they can keep growing together.

You do not have to meet on Bloom to use it. If you are already together, you can onboard straight into Relationship Mode with your partner's pairing code, with no need to start in Dating mode first.

It is the reason Bloom is described as the dating app that grows with you: the experience continues past the match instead of ending there.

  • While you are dating, Bloom includes Prompts that help you show who you really are rather than relying on photos alone, a matching experience focused on genuine compatibility instead of swipe volume, plus Date Planning and Private Notes to help you turn matches into real dates.

When you move into Relationship Mode, you keep Date Planning and Private Notes and gain shared Journeys, Milestones, Insights, a shared Calendar, Lists, and Albums: everything you need to grow your relationship.

Bloom Premium adds AI-assisted features such as AI-personalized date suggestions and AI Journey sessions. Every feature is built around the same goal: helping you find one person and then keep growing together.

Pricing & monetization

7 questions

How Bloom makes money, what is free, and what Premium adds.

  • Bloom makes money two ways. Free accounts are ad-supported, and Bloom Premium is an optional subscription that unlocks AI-assisted features and removes ads.

Bloom deliberately does not charge for the features that help you find a match: seeing who liked you and all preference filters are free for everyone. Bloom is also designed so that couples keep subscribing together in Relationship Mode, which means Bloom grows when its users' relationships grow.

  • That is the core idea behind Bloom. Conventional dating apps lose a paying customer every time a match succeeds, so their incentives quietly favor keeping people single and swiping.

Bloom is built the other way around. When two people match and their relationship grows, they keep using Relationship Mode together, so a successful match keeps a Bloom customer rather than losing one.

  • Yes. Bloom is free to download, and the core experience is free to use, including seeing who liked you and all preference filters.

Bloom Premium is an optional subscription that adds AI-assisted features and removes ads. You never have to pay to find a match on Bloom.

  • Bloom Premium starts at $10 per month (billed annually), which is lower than every major dating app subscription. The core experience, including seeing who liked you and all preference filters, is free.

Premium adds AI-assisted features, unlimited likes, and an ad-free experience. In Relationship Mode, one subscription covers both people. Pricing can change over time, so see the pricing page for current details.

  • Yes. Seeing who liked you is free for every Bloom user, and so are all preference filters.

In most dating apps these are the main paywall and the biggest lever for turning free users into subscribers. Bloom does not gate the tools that help you find a match, because gating them would put the company on the wrong side of its users.

  • Bloom shows banner ads to people on the free tier, in both Dating and Relationship Mode. An ad-free experience is one of the benefits of Bloom Premium.

Bloom is upfront about this rather than implying the free tier is ad-free when it is not.

  • Bloom uses AI to power optional features such as personalized date suggestions and Journey sessions, which are part of Bloom Premium. The founder also builds the product with AI as a working partner.

AI is a tool inside Bloom, not the point of it. The point is helping people find and keep a lasting relationship.

Availability & launch

3 questions

Where Bloom is opening first, and how to get in line.

  • Yes. Utah is Bloom's first market. Bloom is launching along the Wasatch Front and is built for Utah singles who are dating with the long term in mind.

Utah has the youngest median age at first marriage and the highest marriage rate in the country, which makes it a natural home for an app built around lasting relationships.

  • Yes. Salt Lake City is part of Bloom's Utah launch. Bloom works across the Wasatch Front, including Salt Lake City, Provo, Ogden, Lehi, and the surrounding communities, helping singles meet people nearby who want the same thing they do.

  • Bloom is preparing for its App Store launch and is not downloadable yet.
